How a pretty ordinary day turned into one of the most profitable I have ever had just by TAKING ACTION and sending a “Private message”.
So you have researched the BIG players names and you Know who they are, What NOW?
This is the position I found myself in on January 20th 2012.
I Had just finished putting my product together “Instant eBay Lister” and was getting ready for a launch on the warrior forum before moving the product to its own domain and website. (InstantAuctionLister.com will the products final Home once its set up.)
After an Hour or 2 I had written the basic sales copy for the product and had started to put my WSO listing together. At the warrior forum you can get your listing ready in the “TEST FORUM” before moving the entire thread over to the “warrior special offers” section and putting your product up for sale.
The test forum is cool and you may get a few PM’s from Interested people that find your test thread and want to talk to you about your product. Mostly though its freebie hunters looking for review copies, something that used to really shit me until I realised something… more on that in a minute.
After the sales copy was ready and I was pretty happy with the page it was time to start thinking about promotion. I started to think about promotion BEFORE I launched the thread and the product.
This might sound like a ‘no brainer’ to some, but for me I always worried about the product and kind of forgot I needed traffic to make sales and money. My Last 2 WSO’s where launched without a promotional strategy and it was reflected in the sales results.
For Interest sake:
WSO 1 “Facebook fanpage Zero to Hero course” Made 29 sales.
WSO 2 “Instant Sales Funnels” Brandable software, made 43 Sales.
Can I say at this point that I was VERY happy with those results.
NO They didn’t make me rich or even make me much money at all, but they where BOTH profitable. Not by Much but it was profit and that got me through while I was building WSO Number 3.
Back to the Story:
My product :Instant eBay Lister” was ready, My sales copy was ready, My delivery system was ready and It was time to look at promotional strategies.
Following some ideas I had learned, I decided to go for a few solo mailings from the warrior forum as they where recommended as a way to get a FAST start and create some action. My list is very small Only 72 buyers from my previous WSO’s so it wasn’t going to cut it.
I noticed a thread by the guys at “JVzoo.com” the new product launch and sales platform that had been launched just a few weeks ago.
The thread offered to “Pay your WSO Listing Fees” if you ran your product through JVzoo and entered their competition.
“Instant eBay lister” was already set up at JVzoo as they don’t charge a License fee up front, so I entered the competition and moved on with my search for solos ads.
While checking PM’s the following day to get the pricing etc from the various solo ads I had enquired about there was a message from the guys at JVzoo. I had WON a FREE Listing for my product.
All I had to was pay for the thread and email the guys at JVzoo and they Immediately paid me the $40 back.
Never have I been so excited, My thoughts honestly where focused on the fact that I had scored a WSO Listing for FREE adding $40 Instantly to my profit. Its TRUE, The biggest benefit that i saw was that $40.
How wrong I was!
My Product was launched in the warrior forum and the thrill ride had begun!
As with my other 2 WSO’s the first 10 sales happened in less than hour.
I sat at my computer for 5 or 6 hours after I launched the thread and waited for questions and PM’s about the product.
In that Time I made social postings of the listing at facebook and twitter as well as running a bookmarking program to get the listing some fast exposure.
My email list of 79 also got a message from me. But for most of that time I just sat there waiting and watching and generally getting more and more nervous.
At the 17 the sale I went to bed, It was very late and eyes had that “dry sand feeling” I figured 17 sales was OK and I went to sleep very content.
The following morning I woke up early as always and with Coffee in hand turned on My computer.
To say I shat myself is probably Not the right term, but it describes what happened.
OVER 50 sales had been made!
The goal for this WSO was 50 sales for me and to have achieved it in so short a time I was extremely PUMPED! I mean really Pumped, i woke my wife up to tell her and she told me to “Piss off I’m asleep”.
Back to the office I went and when I refreshed my stats the number of sales had jumped to 77!
Luckily I wasn’t pregnant at the time or I would have had the baby right there and then, Being a male probably saved me.
What I discovered was JVzoo had sent an email out about My product. I’m not sure how mnay emails went out but the Increase in sales was beyond my goals and almost my dreams. (My dream was 100 Copies sold)
Over the next 48 hours I watched as over 220 people purchased my product, My dreams had not only been achieved they had been DOUBLED!
Now I did have my share of problems, I uploaded the wrong product file to JVzoo for a start and that Cost ME BIG TIME! A simple error and I nearly killed the thread.
There was also some hassle with the brander, that I found out after hours of trying to replicate the error it was the most simplest thing. a 4 minute video fixed that problem.
As I write this post I have made 240 sales exactly of the “instant eBay Lister” and I am gobsmacked to say the least.
What got me there was ACTION!
In 2011 that was my biggest hurdle. I learned so much in 2011 but put very little of it into practice. Sure I made a lot of apps and a launched 2 wso’s but I never approached any JV partners or really focused on the ACTION of marketing.
To be honest I was Scared to email or PM the big guys in case I Looked like an idiot. Who am I to have a product that is worthy of the Gurus?
2012 for me is a “Taking ACTION” year.
Everything that I have learned is being DONE rather than contemplated.
If I see an Opportunity I put my hand up and try and take it. (entering the JVzoo competition is not something I would normally do)
But by overcoming the fear, Overcoming the MENTAL Block I took action and entered, I won and the rest is history. Albeit only 72 hours since the product launch.
“Instant ebay Lister” became the JVZoo top-seller for January 23rd and the success of the product was so far beyond what I had hoped for that it is incredible.
ALL because I took 2 Minutes to TAKE ACTION, email the JVZoo guys and see if I could WIN.
Making the product was also a lesson in Taking action, I FORCED myself to make the software as I invested over $500 in the program and skills to make the “Instant eBay Lister”. I had to get that Investment back.
So right now if your reading this and you have a product ready for launch but for some reason you haven’t done it yet, then PULL YOUR FINGER out and get on the job. TAKE ACTION and get that product into the marketplace as fast as you can without destroying quality.
If you don’t have a product then TAKE ACTION and start to develop one. I can almost bet you have several ideas and maybe one or two half finished products on your hard drive.
RE-Visit those half done products and finish them! Take action and get the product DONE.
Contact the Big Boys and Gals from the warrior forum and other places and ask them to look at your product, they may so no, they may say nothing but you never Know, they may say YES and promote it for you.
